School Report Card

Letter from the Principal

Dear Parents and Community Members,

Waxhaw Elementary School is committed to providing an environment where every child feels safe, cared for, and proud, learns in fun and engaging ways, grows confident and resilient as a kind, independent learner ready for the future. The school staff of highly qualified educators are dedicated to the students by supporting them in reaching their full potential. Once a year, the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction provides stakeholders with updates on public school achievements. This is communicated through the North Carolina School Report Card. These report cards include important information about school and student performance, class sizes, attendance, school safety, instructional resources, and teacher quality. Report data is available for our school district and for the state’s education system as a whole

During the 2024-2025 school year, our school was recognized as a B school and the students and staff at Waxhaw exceeded growth! However, these results do not reflect the whole story of our school.  Our dedicated team provides both a safe and healthy learning environment as well as provides high quality instruction every day.  Our school culture is thriving with the implementation of the House System where we continue to be four houses and one pack!

We have already begun implementing instructional shifts in grades K-5 to increase proficiency and will closely monitor the impact of instruction and classroom level intervention on student performance so we can meet our 2025-2026 School Improvement Goals.

Our school’s full Report Card can be found on the NC School Report Cards’ website at NC School Report Card. We encourage you to explore the school report card and if you have further questions about the report card please contact the school.

Sincerely,

Jamie Hunt, Principal
